Preparing for Your Consultation

Before your initial consultation with us, come prepared to share the following information:

  • Details about your current implants (type, size, date of surgery).
  • Your desired outcome and any concerns you wish to address.
  • Your medical history and any previous complications with breast implants.

What to Expect During Your Procedure

We typically perform breast implant revision surgery under general anesthesia. The procedure can take several hours, depending on the complexity.

During surgery, Dr. Dawes may replace old implants, adjust their position, or remove them altogether based on what you decided in your consultation.

After your procedure, you will be in a recovery area where medical staff will monitor you as you regain consciousness. You may feel groggy, tired, or experience some discomfort, which is normal. You will receive pain medication to help you manage any discomfort.

It’s essential to have someone drive you home and stay with you for at least the first 24 hours to assist with daily activities, as you'll need to rest and recover. We’ll also schedule follow-up appointments to monitor your healing and progress after corrective surgery for breast implants.

In your consultation with Dr. Dawes, he will evaluate your medical history and current breast health. He will then provide tailored recommendations for your treatment options, so you have the details you need to make an informed decision.

After this, you’ll meet with a staff member to discuss the cost,  financing options, payment plans, and potential dates for your procedure.

Recovery time varies, but most patients can resume normal activities within two to four weeks. Full recovery and settling of implants may take several months or up to a year.

Results can be long-lasting, typically around 10 years. Your implants may eventually need to be replaced again due to age, weight fluctuations, or other factors.

Yes, we can sometimes combine breast implant revision with other procedures, such as a breast lift. Your eligibility depends on your health, the complexity of the procedures, and your specific goals. During your consultation, Dr. Dawes will assess your situation and discuss the best approach to meet your needs and expectations.

As with any surgery, risks can include infection, bleeding, scarring, and anesthesia complications. Dr. Dawes will inform you of the specific risks related to revision and answer any questions.
