Facial Implants

Enhance, augment, or balance the physical structure of your face.

Facial implants are used to enhance certain features of the face. They are specially formed solid material that is compatible with human tissues.

What type of implants are available?

  • Chin implants - Increase the size and projection of a chin that is not in proportion with the forehead and mid-face.
  • Jaw implants - Increase the width of the lower third of your face.
  • Cheek implants - Increase the projection of the cheekbones adding volume to areas that may be recessed or flat.

Are facial implants right for me?

As with other cosmetic procedures, facial implants is a personal decision. It should be done only to help you feel positive about your appearance rather than to fit a particular image or ideal.

Good candidates for facial implants are individuals who:

  • Are healthy, with no underlying medical conditions or illnesses which may impair healing
  • Have healthy facial tissues and muscles
  • Are non-smokers
  • Have realistic expectations for surgical improvement

How facial implants are performed

Chin implants - A small incision is made internally on the lower lip where the implant is then placed, or externally under the chin.
Jaw implants - A small incision is made internally on the lower lip where the implant is then placed.
Cheek implants - A small incision is either made internally on the inside upper lip where the implant is placed, or the implant is placed externally via the lower eyelid.

Recovery expectations

Recovery time is about one to two weeks. Sutures should dissolve within one week, final results appear within several weeks. Certain conditions may be permanently corrected facial implants; however, natural aging will continue. Continual sun protection will help maintain your final results.
